The clients who spent five years abroad in Japan, became enomored with the art and architecture of the country, and wanted their home to reflect this stylistic influence.
The finished home is a blend of American Arts and Crafts style, emphasizing complext wood joinery and detailing, while also incorporating Japanese elements such as an interior Zen garden.
While in Japan, the clients collected various pieces of artwork such as traditional Japanese painted screens, ceramics and dolls. The home was designed to specifically incorporated and spotlight these art pieces.
