Castle Bella
{Owner's name withheld}
Cincinnati, OH
Castle Bella is a collection of four home sites neighboring the historic Crusade Castle at the end of Shattuc Avenue in Mt. Lookout.
In 1831, Jacob Feck immigrated to Cincinnati from Germany. In the Rhineland, he learned the art of cultivating hillside vineyards. He applied this knowledge here at Castle Bella and terraced the hillside to grow Catawba grapes.
The castle was built in 1852 as a home and cellar for the grapes and wine produced on this hillside. The castle and surrounding terraces contribute a sunce of European style and history to the entire landscape.
Muller Architects is providing architectural design and land planning services for the project. |
